Scientific web server maintenance and development
In our group, “Signaling and Functional Genomics” at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg (www.dkfz.de/en/signaling/), we develop several web tools and databases like GenomeCRISPR and E-CRISPR that are used by a wide scientific community on a daily basis. Today, we are seeking for a motivated student to help us with the maintenance and development of those tools with an initial commitment of 20 hours per month. The amount of commitment might be adapted in the future.
The successful candidate should have knowledge of and experience working with:
– Linux operating system (CentOS, Ubuntu)
– Docker containers
– Bash shell language
– System admin skills
– Server security (iptables, web-server config)
Basic understanding of: Apache2, Perl programming language and scientific software development is a plus.
